Willpower: How to get it

Posted 16 Dec 2010 in Diet, Psychology, Uncategorized

This week I wrote a guest post about willpower for Julien Smith’s blog.  It synthesizes a number of the ideas on this blog about deconditioning urges and emotions that tend to undermine our resolve to make significant changes in life.

Great guest post! I’m always enthusiastic when I start a diet or workout plan. But I find it really hard to stay disciplined, especially when I’m under pressure. There are some helpful ideas here. Thanks.

  2. Excellent work!

I love Julien Smith’s work and found your article extremely informative. Many people view willpower as something you either have or you don’t, but in fact it’s very trainable.

There are many tricks to improve your ability to cope with external urges, and I usually find that simply reminding yourself why you’re trying to resist or relapse into an old habit is enough to stop you in your tracks.

Willpower is something we all can improve on:)

    Thanks man
